What is Advocatus Diaboli?

We are a guild of friends that enjoys raiding.  Our primary focus is on having fun and respecting real life demands while at the same time focusing on progression through hardcore raid content.  

Advocatus Diaboli means Devils Advocate but we usually refer to ourselves as AD.  Our guild hall is located off of the Commonlands docks and is open to all visitors to come in and take a look around.

What makes Advocatus Diaboli unique?

Our motto is to work smarter, not harder.  We work on optimizing our performance with in-depth knowledge of game mechanics, class abilities and encounter strats.  We run an organized system to schedule, plan and execute our raids as efficiently as possible so that way we can spend more time having fun and getting loot,  Open communication with and feedback to the guild leaders is encouraged so there is very little drama in AD.

Another aspect that is unique with AD is that we run two separate raid forces, Alpha and Omega.  Both forces are considered equal (neither raid force is an "alt" raid force) and operate under the same policies and procedures.  Why two raid forces?  We recognize that EQ2 is a game and that real life issues pop up from time to time.

Most guilds with a casual raiding attendance policy run a very large roster of raiders which means that many folks sit a lot and loot is diluted over a large number of players.  Instead, we decided to create two separate, yet equal raiding forces that could borrow from each other to fill last minute shortages so that we could continue to put forth a solid raid force each and every night.  The main raider roster for each raid force is typically around 26 to 30 members.  It's been working out great and we're having a blast with it!

Recruiting

We don't recruit just anyone that asks.  We are a raiding guild and that is our focus.  We publish classes that we are currently recruiting in the in-game recruitment window and also in these forums (see Currently Recruiting).  Even if you don't see your class listed on our recruitment pages, we are always interested in talking to quality players that are interested in joining our team.  If you are interesting in applying to AD, please copy the format below and fill in your information in a new thread to this forum (age 18+ please).  Please feel free to also contact us in game (Edene, N00busta, Gaktar or Faolain).  We look forward to hearing from you.

Details

• AD is a level 90 guild and is located on the Everfrost server.
• We run a DKP based loot system with open auction style bidding.
• We have main raider requirements but they are not that difficult to achieve if you spend time on your toon.
• We are currently focused on SF raid content but also raid some TSO from time to time.
• We use our website forums quite heavily for communication as well as fun.  AD is truly a dynamic and vibrant community.
• Alpha raids 4 nights a week on Wed, Thu, Fri & Sun @ 9:00pm EST.
• Omega raids 3 nights a week on Mon, Tue & Sat @ 9:00pm EST.
• Raids typically last 3 hours and the pace is kept quite brisk.
